Hobbing Machine Operator
Job Description:
Perform gear hobbing operations on a variety of parts following standard methods and procedures.
Setups made by others.
Requires careful handling of parts, loading of fixtures, positioning on centers.
Operate four or more gear hobbing machines, inspect and gage parts to maintain close tolerances.
Check cutting edges of hob, make minor adjustments to machines.
Oil and clean machines.
Detect faulty operation or defective material.
Report questionable conditions to supervisor.
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
