Job Description:
Perform repetitive tumbling operations to burr, grind, burnish, polish or clean metal parts.
Group parts for tumbling by size and structure; load into barrels; add proper amounts of cleaning and abrading materials such as stones, pebbles, sand, abrasives, soap and water; place and clamp covers; roll for prescribed time.
Check parts at designated intervals, and check with supervisor, for prescribed finish.
Unload barrels, dry in sawdust in sawdust tumbler, screen parts and deliver to storage area.
Use electric powered hoist to handle heavy loads.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
Oil, grease and clean machines and floor areas.
Refer unusual conditions to supervisor.
