What We're Seeking:
Athol Credit Union is currently accepting applications for a FT Member Service Specialist II.
We are seeking a career-minded individual with some banking experience to provide excellent service and support to our Members and assist with their banking transactions.
The Credit Union will provide ongoing training and support in the position, encouraging the employee's growth and development with the possibility of expanding their experience in the department and in other Credit Union areas.
Reporting to the Branch Supervisor and the VP of Branch Operations, the MSS II represents the financial interests of both our Members and the Credit Union.
The MSS II also serves as the liaison between the Members and the Credit Union by answering member inquiries, opening accounts, processing transactions, and providing the highest degree of Member service.
Essential Functions &
Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome visitors to the Credit Union.
Maintain a professional appearance and approach when interacting with peers, staff, and all levels of management.
Ensure all workspaces are clear of confidential information and are clean and neat in presentation.
Provide in-person and telephone information to Members about the Credit Union's products or policies.
Respond to Member emails or other submitted requests by providing prompt, professional, and accurate service and information.
Conduct orientation interviews about the Credit Union's services and programs with each new Member, including follow-up outbound calls.
Actively promote Credit Union products and services that are obtained from Member interviews and account reviews.
Open new accounts and service existing accounts, including IRA's and business accounts.
Ensure all Credit Union CIP requirements are met and set up.
Maintain CIP files.
Process transactions including IRA, CD, Loan, and other account-related Member requests.
Assist Members with complex IRA transactions, including IRA distributions.
Provide notary services to Members.
Assist the branch staff and branch partners in answering Member questions regarding products and services, policies and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.
Conduct research for deposit, withdrawal, loan payment, and branch-related general ledger discrepancies.
Maintain branch security at all levels including opening/closing procedures, vault procedures, and customer confidentiality, Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all branch-related policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations.
Review new accounts opened online, including all IRAs to ensure all Credit Union CIP requirements are met.
Act as backup for all Member-service roles in the branch, including Teller.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Credit Union's policies and procedures as well as regulations and compliance, both state and federal, as they pertain to consumer lending.
Attend and participate in all required compliance training.
Assist Branch Supervisor and VP of Branch Operations in performing other duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure organizational success.
Adhere to the Credit Union's service standards and values, representing the Credit Union in a professional and friendly manner, both internally and within the community.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
