Setups are not difficult, involving use of magnetic chuck for holding the work.
Mount prescribed wheel on spindle, do some balancing.
Indicate work to align to wheel in proper relationship to reference surface.
Follow blueprint or work order.
Tolerances on sizes, parallelism and squareness are close but not difficult to maintain.
Finish is important.
Check work using a micrometer, dial or fixed gauges.
Dress wheel for flat or face grinding.
Normally operate one machine.
Operations are performed with use of coolant.
Change coolant, oil and grease machine, clean machine and work area.
Detect faulty operations or defective material and refer unusual conditions to foreman.
