This is a permanent position for grade 5 science.
The successful candidate will possess a MA Educator License appropriate to the field and level of the position.
It is necessary to have the content knowledge and ability to provide instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Science and Technology Standards.
Additionally, the candidate will possess the experience and knowledge of best practices for teaching and will have strong organizational and classroom management skills.

Job Details:
The Athol-Royalston Middle School (ARMS) is seeking a grade 5 science teacher who will be responsible for delivering a high-quality instructional experience consistent with the curriculum standards of the school district.
Essential duties for all teachers include classroom instruction conferences with students, parents, and colleagues active participation in curriculum development and unit and lesson planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Masters Degree preferred.
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license in one or more of these area(s):

Responsibilities:
Provide learning experiences in the subject area, based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirementsMonitor and supervise students through effective classroom managementPromote rigorous standards and high expectations for student achievementUtilize instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learnEffective planning and assessment of curriculum and instructionDifferentiate instruction and provide appropriate opportunities for learning using a response to intervention (RTI) framework;Follow special education plans, 504 plans, and DCAPs to support students with disabilities and tiered intervention needsWork with colleagues and families in the best interests of students Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policyMaintain professional certification, and attend and participate in relevant professional development to stay current on research-based instructional practicesUse an equity lens in all aspects of professional responsibilitiesPerform other duties that may be assigned by the building principal/assistant principal.
