Lead Systems Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities Lead project teams for IT infrastructure initiatives Establish direction and help implement technologies for new and existing systems architectures Define and perform lifecycle maintenance plans for infrastructure systems including storage arrays and servers Serve as an escalation point of contact for monthly IT maintenance events (ex, system patching) Write business correspondence for recommendations, project support, and customer service purposes Work with Project Managers to develop project scopes, estimates, milestones, and timelines Act as technical escalation point for complex support issues Provide oversight of systems infrastructure hardware including physical and virtual servers Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve system problems, performance issues, and computer resource allocation Maintain project plans and documentation of system builds and modifications Research, identify, and evaluate new products and services within the IT field Provide technical assistance and mentoring to technical team members to increase skill sets and understanding Interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and contract consultants Have an excellent working knowledge of the current industry standard server operating systems and major productivity suite applications to solve for F&G business needs Responsible for development and documentation of corporate policies and procedures as related to system device use Stay aware of emerging and evolving technologies to assist in setting strategic direction of the core service offerings for the organization Work with the team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company Migrate complex, multi-tier applications on cloud platforms Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines Design with limited assistance within architectural standards Mentor and coach others on an informal basis Lead technical aspects of one or more applications within the function Technical ownership of one or more business facing technologies to deliver business outcomes Interact with clients and stakeholders on a regular basis Lead team through complex projects, accountable for delivery Lead, support and interact with various IT teams and LOBs on integration efforts Translate undefined business problems and defined business objectives and goals into functional solutions Experience & Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent experience 8-9 years of experience in System and Storage Engineering Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWS or Azure Experience with scripting and programming windows systems (PowerShell, PEARL, JSON, Visual Basic, etc.) Experience with automation tools Experience with configuration management tools Thorough knowledge of Active Directory management including Sites/Services, Group Policy, and Forest/Domain Trusts Thorough knowledge of routing protocols Thorough knowledge of packet captures Knowledge of ITIL and Industry best practices Disaster Recovery and BCP experience Experience in distributed data center model Experience with automated monitoring tools Experience with collaboration software Preferred Requirements Experience working within an IT organization in the financial services industry Expertise with PowerShell, PEARL, and JSON Expertise with Converged or Hyper-Converged infrastructure Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chief Experience with Terraform, Orchestrator, or Calm Cloud Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification Expertise in server virtualization including hypervisor, distributed switching, and server virtualization Expertise in shared storage solutions Solid technical background in server support on a Microsoft Windows network Thorough knowledge of Netflow Thorough knowledge of TCP and UDP traffic troubleshooting Knowledge of DCIM solutions Advanced knowledge of SSO implementation and troubleshooting Skills & Abilities Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and business units Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills Ability to lead teams as well as develop and mentor employees Strong technical documentation ability #LI-Remote #LI-MB1 Since 1959, Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company (F&G) has offered annuity and life insurance products to those who are seeking security in retirement and protection during life's unexpected events. Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
