Job Description:
Job SummaryCT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
A CT scan technologist must be able to interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
A CT scan technologist must maneuver equipment and patients.
This effort may pose physical challenges.
CT scanners emit radiation, which can be harmful to the technologist and patient if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Job RequirementsMinimum EducationGraduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, or equivalentMinimum Work ExperiencePrevious experience performing CT scan procedures is preferred or equivalent experience as determined by the Department ManagerExperience on Toshiba CT Scanners is a plusRequired LicensesMA DPH Radiology License requiredARRT (R)ARRT (CT) Required SkillsOther desirable attributes include:
